6 Truth Bombs You Didn't Think you needed this Sunday...

"The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul." - Author unknown

Hi There, Reader

Sundays are about two things:

  • Coffee
  • Real Talk

You'll have to make your own coffee... but I can supply you with the real talk.

Below are 6 Truth Bombs about your cruise...

  1. Cruise lines won't encourage you to go ashore and shop, they would prefer you shopped onboard in the boutiques onboard. The cruise lines get a lot of commission when you shop onboard.
  2. If you get a good deal for your cruise, read the small print, many cruises don't include a drinks package and this is where you can get stung for drinks. There is a big mark up on alcoholic drinks onboard, so make sure you budget wisely. Here is a great article "How Much Will I Spend on a 7 Night Cruise"
  3. Before booking a tour through the cruise line it might be a good idea just to google search some of the tours on offer. You can save a lot of money booking directly with the tour operator.
  4. It is a good idea to find out where your ship is going to be docked. Even though a cruise line might say something like London. The ship will be docked in Southampton, Portsmouth and sometimes Dover which is a bit of a journey to London. Here is an article on "London to Southampton - Journeying down the South Coast"
  5. Another tip is to check which restaurants are included in the your cruise price. Some of the Speciality restaurants are extra.
  6. Book anything you do want to book through the cruise line as early as possible. Popular tours, tables at speciality restaurants, some of the high end shows will get booked up quickly. If you wait until you are on the cruise there will be limited options left for you.

Hi Reader During my 27 years working on cruise ships as a Port Shopping Guide. I picked up a load of little inside tips I would only share with my favourite cruisers. For example, when you cruise to St Lucia there is a fabulous Restaurant that not a lot of people know about. It's called The Coal Pot Restaurant. It is a 15-minute walk from Point Seraphine. This isn't advertised onboard and it is a secret the locals keep to themselves. I won't share this on my website or with the public at...
